I came here with a small group. They were very flexible about the reservation and gave us a smaller table when two folks in our party didn't show up. The entire menu is vegetarian. Our waitress had a very zen presence and a remarkably good memory, as she remembered our entire order without writing anything down. We ordered several plates to share. The dumplings tasted similarly to gyoza and included a generous helping of succulent sauce. The avocado was served on a bed of seaweed rice cake, which was crispy and savory. I highly recommend the bao trio. I only tried the sweet thai bun, but all of them looked delicious and received high praise from the group. The kimchi arancini were also satisfyingly crispy and flavorful. Probably my favorite dish was the general tso's cauliflower, which were crunchy on the outside, tender on the inside and accompanied by well seasoned fried brussel sprouts. The mongolian broccoli was my least favorite choice. The broccoli were a bit wilted and I didn't care for the texture of the sauce. For dessert, we had the strawberry yuzu cheesecake. This was polarizing. Half the group loved the rich, fruity flavor and half stopped after one bite. They had a great playlist of 80s dance hits. The decor was gorgeous with lots of understated gold accents and floral arrangements. Definitely worth a visit!

SERVICE - located in a slightly quieter part of East Village - the door has no signs but is painted rainbow - quaint floral themed inside with seating for groups of 2-4 - we came on a Monday night so it was not super crowded but I would still make a reservation to ensure you get a table - our server maya was amazing! She checked in on us right when we were finishing our plates and offered to make us custom drinks based on our preferences - food comes out as it is made with the appetizers being served before the entrees MENU - global inspired small bites and shareables with creative drinks menu - happy hour specials on drinks and buns from 4:00 - 6:30 daily - all vegan - slightly pricey ($25 per person) FOOD - kimchi arancini (8/10): four rice and cream cheese croquettes on a bed of spicy chili sauce topped with pickled daikon radish. This was such a unique take on a classic arancini. The crispy panko on the outside makes a satisfying first bite that opens up into a comforting creamy inside. The chili sauce is not too spicy but has a fermented flavor from the kimchi that offsets the richness of the filling. This dish is great to share between 2-4 people as a starter. - dumplings (9/10): five mushroom and cabbage filled dumplings on a coconut curry sauce with a drizzle of basil oil. As a curry lover I had to try this dish. The sauce was so rich and flavorful I would have been happy with a bowl of just that. I liked how the dumplings actually had a taste on their own as some veggie dumplings tend to be bland. This makes a great shareable or a portion for one. - tonkatsu eggplant sandwich (7/10): white bread filled with crispy eggplant cutlet, coleslaw, tonkatsu date sauce, and a pickle on the side. Out of the three dishes we ordered, this was my least favorite. I felt like the white bread was overpowering and plain. After tasting so many different flavors, I thought they could have done something to elevate it like add a sesame seed crust on the outside. The filling also did not have much flavor. It felt nostalgic and a more elevated version of a sandwich that I may have eaten as a child. - matcha tres leches (6/10): matcha sponge cake layered with coconut whipped cream and strawberries served in a wide wine glass. This was one of two dessert options on the menu. If it was marketed as a coconut or berry tres leches, I would be ranking it higher. The matcha flavor was too subtle for something that is labeled "matcha". I unfortunately was not wowed. WOULD I GO BACK? Yes! Loved the food and ambiance and our super nice server.

A perfect pick for a quaint and elegant vegan dining experience with very friendly service. Ladybird offers bold fusion flavors on familiar comfort foods in a setting that is exquisitely decorated (check out their bathroom). My friends and I loved the bao trio, we got two flights so we didn't have to share. Each one is a great complement and contrast offering a zesty buffalo option and savory/creamy filling that bodes well as a handheld. The kale Cesar salad was an unexpected hit, with what tasted like rice cracker croutons and flavorful crispy mushroom bacon, I could've eaten two of these. We also loved the kimchi mac and cheese, so much that it was demolished before anyone could take a picture. It's a harmonious blend of spicy and creamy served with al dente pasta. The corn ribs were also a favorite, definitely on the lighter side, but paired well with everything served. I'd definitely recommend not skipping dessert--both are fantastic in their own right. The cheesecake is a fragrant blend of berries with a burst of brightness from the yuzu. The tres leches is light and creamy with fresh fruit served in a glass. I loved how innovative every bite was and will definitely be visiting their sister restaurants part of this chain. Highly recommend if you are craving a feast for the eyes and tastebuds!

Came here on a Saturday night , was also here last year and had a great time so decided we should come back. Sara and the team were extremely kind and provided incredible service that really stood out. The food was delicious -- my favorite Caesar salad -- dumplings were FIRE, and the udon noodles were super flavorful. Great date spot if you're vegan or not, worth a stop!

Beautifully sophisticated decor, deliciously floral cocktails, and personable/attentive service. My partner and I stopped in for a drink in our quest to barhop through East Village. We were seated with no wait and enjoyed the tranquil atmosphere of the bar. The bartender was genuinely nice and down to earth, provided very detailed recommendations of the drinks when asked, and checked in to make sure we were taken care of. It's hard to find genuinely great hospitality workers and everyone who worked at Ladybird were genuinely nice and helpful. I thoroughly enjoyed the Ladybird Reunion cocktail which is equal parts fragrant, sweet and tart. The tartness of the passionfruit cuts the sweetness a bit to make a perfectly balanced cocktail. My partner had the Dodo cocktail which is on the sweeter side but still tasty. My partner and I can't wait to come back to try their vegan tapas. Maybe we'll get a bottle of wine too.

Such a cute spot with great vibes & nice staff. Our service was great & the food was amazing too! I wish I had room to try other dishes. We got 3 dishes of bao buns. They were great but the avocado toast with just egg was amazing! So creamy!

I really enjoyed the food here. I passed by it when I went to Cadence last week and made a note to come back. I'm glad I did. The sweet Thai baos were phenomenal (sadly didn't get a picture as we inhaled them). I've never had kimchi Mac and cheese before and it was a delight. The dumplings came in a curry sauce and they were some of the tastiest dumplings I've had in a while. The only thing that I felt was lacking was the matcha tres leches. It looked and tasted more like a trifle, which admittedly is still good. However, the majority of the layers of matcha cake were dry, and the true tres leches part was at the very bottom.

Food, nothing out of the extraordinary but vegetarians might like the variety. Service: very fast , attentive some kind weirdly friendly.. Ambience was the best part, music from the 2000's and people having a normal conversations without yelling to be heard. Decor was the highlight for a very small place. Pricey, def. My group will keep looking for veg restaurants for sure.
